I'm not going to lie, I've been obsessed with this prank since they mentioned it. I don't even know why. Last night I had a fucking dream about it. There is no way it would ever live up to my totally unreasonable hype, that's on me I am insane, but I probably still would have lost my mind if it didn't come after a half hour of annoying shit. It's weird, because cuplicated is actually hilarious. but he just doesn't work on this podcast, and the BM persona in general is pretty shitty. zero forks.
I'm normally not a Bug Mane fan but I thought he was better than I expected on this episode. I almost didn't even listen to this episode because of him though so that doesn't say much. I do think this episode probably should have been a double though because of all the switcheroos though.
I don't understand how people struggle even when it's a bad guest. Mitch and Nick are the best. Also you spend more time listening to awful bands than you do on these eps
there is a difference between a bad guest....and bugmane EDIT also unsure on the "spend more time listening to awful bands"
Its totally different to have a guest you simply aren’t feeling and a guest who fundamentally changes the show by steamrolling every conversation with dumb catchphrases.
Bug Mane is insufferable, and yet I was cracking up throughout a huge part of this episode. I can handle some Bug Mane chaos, like, once a year
I will take an episode like this 100 times over a guest who seems disinterested or unfamiliar with the show.
I don't think they've had many disinterested or unfamiliar guests - maybe Gillian Jacobs, but that was still a lot of fun.
Yeah I'd say an inordinate amount seem to actually listen to it regularly or semi-regularly and the rest are generally pretty game
I got my normie, non-podcast listening sister into Doughboys and she texted me this morning so confused about bugmane.
I mean... you talk about disinterested guests but Bug didn't even attempt to eat the IHOb burgers until they were forced upon him, then he tried like 2 and refused to review it. Bug is an offensively obtrusive character (also just offensive but that's a whole other thing) who has no intention of making a tolerable product.
Are the people who aren’t into bug mane also not into Armen? I like them both, but would argue Armen is the tougher listen.
