I wonder what chains and how many they'll do. They covered a lot of chicken and burger places, and there's five Thursdays in March, so they can do a full 6 chain tournament with two byes, or add more and have it bleed into the doubles? Will they do BJ's or california pizza kitchen? Will they touch on chains that haven't gotten a full episode? Will it be a looser format like the delivery race, which actually seems like a fun idea?
If they do six chains, my guesses are Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut, and Shakey's for sure, than maybe CPK and BJ's get byes because they're obviously better? Maybe Mitch convinces Wiger to let 7-11 in? Mr. Pizza is definitely a wild card they could include as well. I don't think they'd let Chuck E. Cheese considering they hated it almost as much as they hated Carrow's. And then there's the chains they haven't covered, like Blaze. Going to be interesting. Either way I think they'd probably save the Doubles for Last Chance Kitchen again, right? And maybe throw in some of the more wildcard selections (7-11, Mr. Pizza) there from the start?
I forgot what they did for chicken, do they announce the chains up front, or just do them one by one?
I think they revealed them week-by-week, I'm going back through the first episode last year and I don't think they said anything beyond what was in that episode.
I would imagine Wiger would want Round Table in as well. There are so many of those make your own pizza places now. I've only tried a few, but Pieology is definitely my favorite. I think they should leave those out unless they go head to head with each other.
Forgot Round Table, good point. And yeah,if they put in a Build-Your-Own place at all they'll have to choose among them so maybe they won't even bother.
“Are you allowed to swear on this?” “Yes of course” “Ok cool... that’s very cool” Claudia is so fucking funny
Mitch: "Claud-dog, I need your help. Before we were ranking out of basketballs, because it's Munch Madness..." Claudia: "What's? What?!?!" Nick: "We're gonna take a break. We'll be right back with more Doughboys."
Mitch: "You'll come to my funeral, right? In that extra large casket I'm in." Claudia: "No you won't be... You might get cremated" Nick: "That's a half dozen urn job."
Mitch, I used to have Kurt Cobain-style hair, a little shoulder length. Too bad you couldn't follow Kurt Cobain's lead.
i'd love to see someones reaction who has never listened to this show, hearing their rules for munch madness for the first time
thank goodness her mother is so diligent with entering her into these contests, the sweepstakes companies must hate her!
I mean, Claudia has been on the show before but it sounded like she had no idea what they were talking about when they started explaining stuff, so I guess this was that haha
I'm surprised they didn't take the pizza/Italian thing in the direction of Mario for where to send the winner. Like, the winner gets sent to Mario to give him the strength to rescue Princess Peach, or maybe it gets sent to Bowser so he gobbles it up and gets too full to kidnap Princess Peach.
its absurdity, so it could go anywhere, Claudia found the funniest possible option I'm glad she ignored Mitch's harry potter/lord of the rings suggestions and went totally off the wall
I remember the first episode I ever listened to (Paul Rust, Wendy's) and Mitch played the drop at the beginning, I was confused and was wondering what I was getting myself into.
I know, I just meant, like, I would've thought that Mitch and/or Wiger's brains would've went somewhere like that first when they were making suggestions. Also Claudia didn't really go completely "absurd" with it because she did wind up connecting it to Italy, just in a different way.
