i feel like i've hit a combo Nathan's/Checkers in a mall before but idk if I've ever seen a proper Checkers
A Checkers opened across the street from me several years but went out of business in maybe like 3 years. Went there twice.
Mitch: Maybe you’ll Dead. Nick: Oh, come on. Mitch: But then she’ll be free. Nick: Oh that’s a good way to look at it!
I decided to start listening to this. I started with the first Chipotle episode. Do I need to start from the beginning? I don't know anything about these people.
My advice for any podcast is start with guests you know and like or in this case restaurants you’re really familiar with. Just know the two hosts rib on each other quite a bit. They’re pretty aware in case of new listeners and make a point to explain a reference.
I started with the first Erin McGathy episode and that seems to be a good spot. She’s wonderful and flirts with them and Nick tells his voluminous wet dream story.
I say the Paul Rust Wendy's episode into the first tournament of chompions is a good way to get into it. The early eps aren't great but its good to skip around if you like the restaurant or guest. Now there are so many I'm not sure what the best to go about a full listen would be.
I started with Paul Rust/Wendy's and Paul F. Tompkins/KFC. The latter might be the best starting point to get a feel for the show, and then just skip around depending on the guest/resturaunt. If it hooks you, you'll eventually run through them all haha
I started from the beginning when I jumped on, and, personally, I'm glad I did. There are just so many running bits and defining features of the podcast and experiencing where they all came from was enjoyable. Also this. One of my favorite sketch shows ever, gone way too soon.
I started with Paul Rust/Wendy's and only went back on episodes when I knew the guest. Once I was caught up I always listen to the new eps
Ah, okay. I'll go back. Are episodes enjoyable if you don't know the restaurant? Or do you guys skip them?
I listen to all of the episodes, and if it's a restaurant I've never been to/heard of I always look it up and see what it's all about first/check to see if there are any near me. They did BJ's Brewhouse last year, for example, and when I looked it up I saw that there's actually one in New Jersey that I could potentially go to (still haven't been though haha). A lot of places they go to are California/West Coast-centric chains that either don't exist in other areas of the country or have random locations all over, like BJ's. So if you live on the East Coast like me, there are probably going to be a lot of places you've never been to/haven't heard of. But Nick and Mitch are so fun to listen to, and they always have really good guests, so it doesn't really matter so much. To me, at least.
Most of us (at least myself) have become pretty infatuated with the podcast. I've listened to every episode and all of the Doubles (Patreon bonus episodes)
Has anyone listened to Yusong’s podcast? I hear in the second episode they address the feral audio situation. Curious to hear his take
Its a good podcast. They just mention that it happened, they recorded before it did and his anxiety that episode was being fired, nothing juicy or anything. But I've been enjoying the podcast, very relatable
