It probably goes without saying, but if you have the means and aren't signed up already, now is a good time. Make it too lucrative for them to call it quits.
If you don't currently subscribe to the double, consider subscribing at least for a month here and there (when you can afford it) to support the boys. You get free content week after week, that in my opinion is more entertaining than most of the shit we all pay for.
I don't either. But I don't because it's a dangerous rabbit hole I don't want to go through. Yes, it's only $5, but then the next guy says, hey $5 for some content over here, then you're at $10/mo. Plus I already pay for Spotify, PS+, Xbox Live, Prime, gym membership, etc. That shit adds up.
I would pay for probably 3 separate podcasts because of the amount of value I get from them. I think I'd pay up to $15 for Doughboys because of all the joy I get out of the 2-3 hours a week.
I totally get this; which is why I say to support them for a month here and there. Move the money around. You don't have to pay $5 EVERY month. Personally, I'd rather give my money directly to Mitch and Nick than pay for a Spotify account where the artist will make next to nothing.
I have a list of creators I would support without thinking twice if it was financially viable. Unfortunately, right now, I don't have direct deposit and am living in a city an hour and a half away from home (where my bank is) until summer, so I get paid in cash and can never guarantee exactly how much money I'll have in my checking account. It's complicated, but as soon as I can swing it, the Doughboys Patreon will be the first I subscribe to because I literally just finished catching up today. I feel...empty
i've seen so much mindnumbing Last Jedi hate over the last month that i am almost not that excited for this one lol
I'm not a Star Wars fan in the slightest but I can't wait to hear Mitch's fury. Also that artwork is great.
Still really surprised Mitch hated TLJ. It had literally everything he said he wanted changed from The Force Awakens (especially his chief desire for lots more weird creatures).
Odds it's in the context of this being the first quarter portion of four Doubles they're doing for Star Wars month?
I’m biased because I love TLJ but I think I’ve disagreed with everything Mitch has said in this episode
ep was ok, mitch was better than i expected... other than wishing Akbar had taken Dern's place. i don't think leaning on a 30 year old CGI character is a great direction to take the franchise lol. same with them expecting Lando instead of Maz. i don't get why the same crowd that scoffed at "Chewie, we're home" want these old characters shoehorned into scenarios just so they get screen time. this episode also suffers from the same side effects as other eps when they get bonafide professionals from outside the realm of food on the show, like Drew - the banter and petulant bickering aren't really there and they almost play it too straight all the way through. still good but not the most fun.
have they announced any other formats for the star wars doubles? hoping for one on EU stuff like old games and books. i imagine we will get a prequel one.
