Actually, someone posted an article that says Ali Farahnakian came up with the name. His wiki says he wrote on the show, so it would be weird if a writer threatened to sue at some point.

Though someone who would do that is probably not above writing his own Wikipedia page...

I love mashed potatoes. I love pickles. I do NOT support their crossover

I would imagine it having a similar effect to Potato Salad which I can get jiggy with. If they were the only mashed potato option I'd be a little weary, I don't think they'd be good with gravy which is the main point of mashed potatoes.

 

i'd be open to trying it for sure but if they were the ONLY available potatoes i would be flipping the dang table

 

My uncle made garlic mashed potatoes one year and the entire family told him he had ruined Thanksgiving all day

 

Ok wtf that's a totally different thing garlic mashed is a basic change that should always be acceptable
