Yeah I thought this had a lot of potential and all of the ingredients were there for it to be great but it needed one more rewrite to get to that level

Also Chris Pine was basically doing a Dennis Reynolds impression

  2. This is out so I'm going to go ahead and skip spoiler tags, just a warning...

Yeah, honestly, I just felt the simulation thing was a hat on a hat. Would have much preferred it the twist was simply that she had joined this cult with Jack (either willingly or unwillingly) and was brainwashed.

And the more I sit with this, the more questions I have. Where did the plane come from? Was that a purposeful move from Frank? Who are the security guards in the simulation? Why did Frank's wife wait so long to kill him? It just doesn't add up to me.

I’m glad I don’t remember a lot of the shit you all are talking about lol. This movie sucked and left my brain as soon as we walked out of the theater.

I figured they were part of the simulation in the way that the kids were (not real that is)

they obviously have to have physical presence or it would be discovered. Seemed that the only real people were the husbands and wives in the Victory Project.

the plane had me puzzled, but my guess was that it was meant to be a signal from someone or possibly a glitch.

I dint mind some of the unknowns. The cult aspect could have been interesting though. Really wanted it be something more meaningful.

But again, just thought there was enough good/intrigue to get it over the average grade.

Haha! I still can’t shake the idea that Kroll and him should have switched roles. Would have been more interesting.

I hope Olivia Wilde continues to direct, but the lukewarm reception to this film added with all the alleged behind the scenes drama makes me not so sure about her career's future. I honestly don't think the controversy is that big a deal but women in this industry and in general seem to be ostracized more than men for less. After Booksmart I was kinda hoping she'd be on her way to becoming another Greta Gerwig, I guess I set my expectations too high.

  9. Oh cool I guess. Though I do wish DWD lived up to its potential, I look forward to seeing what she does next
