honestly impressive that even with all the big names being shown the trailer made it look way more like a standard netflix film than an adam mckay movie
Sounds like they just naturally drifted apart at first but the casting thing is weird. Assuming McKay's story is 100% accurate, Ferrell must have felt really betrayed by that move
This was okay. The performances are fine and they have a few pretty funny recurring jokes. But a lot of it is just on-the-nose commentary about Trumpism, COVID/climate deniers and celebrity culture and after living through 2020, I don’t really know who wants to re-live all that.
I miss silly McKay movies. Too bad about the Ferrell split. Stepbrothers will always be one of my favorite comedies.
I really don’t think it’s as bad as Chris Evangelista says it is. It’s just overly long and mostly dull.
He started reading books in his 40s and wanting to talk about them, as all dads do,he just has too big a platform
