He just posted on Twitter about a Deluxe version coming out March 26. No idea what the extra tracks may be.
Not sure. I've been curious to hear more about that interlude song and hopefully a full version. Only thing he posted was "A special version of “Whatever Keeps You Going” featuring the J.P. Robarts P.S. Music Project" was on it.
From what I saw posted on another site "four bonus tracks (two new originals and two alternate mixes)". Grew Apart (Piano version) and Whatever Keeps You Going (Acoustic with kids choir).
seems like it. song is called “when the party’s over”. Other new song is called “break somebody’s heart”. info from here:EPK — Donovan Woods
Didn't even know a deluxe version was coming out. Listening now and "When The Party's Over" is so damn good!!
These are both excellent. He always delivers with alt versions of his tracks. Some I end up liking better than the originals.
So Donovan Woods posted about an upcoming song with Aofie O’Donovan called “Iowa”. There’s a brief clip and it sounds like a duet and listed as 5/7 (May 7). What an outpouring of music from him in the past year+. Also a cool way to be introduced to a new artist.
The two originals are right in line with the album and I really like them. Alt versions are ok. I think if you want to sample there are videos on YouTube. Plus you can get his new song Iowa with Aofie Donovan on her bandcamp page. I should add that sound in the Interlude was fully flushed out as one of the two originals on the deluxe per fan demand I believe.
I didn't buy the album again for them, but I downloaded those songs. The alternate versions (especially "Whatever Keeps You Going") are lovely, and the unreleased tracks are pretty close to his usual standard of excellence.
He’s also done a feature with Dabin Lee and Nurko Music coming out May 28. I have no idea who they are or what style but my guess is more electronic/programming/club music.
From his Twitter: “I have two more songs coming out this summer and let’s just say that if you’re thinking about breaking up with someone go ahead and do it.” His reply said July and August. Man is building a very full era for this album.
Another new song, Here In Chicago, comes out September 17. This era has so many songs and they’re all really good. Feeling spoiled that he’s kept up releasing new material prior to and since releasing this album
Sounds like he’s working on another new single release for November. This man keeps rolling out good content. Other artists, take note.
Donovan Woods Unveils 'Big Hurt Boy' EP, Shares New Single | Exclaim! New single out and new EP Big Hurt Boy out March 18. He’s been busy since lock down and doesn’t get enough credit for it. Album, singles collabs, deluxe, and and now EP’s.
Big Hurt Boy EP is out today. Basically touring the album over 2022 and already writing songs for a follow up to to Without People for 2023.
Had the opportunity to see Donovan do an Acoustic set night and full band night during his Canadian Tour. He was fantastic on his own and full band again. He also has a wickedly funny sense of humour. Played stuff from all over his discography, a couple covers and new stuff. He’s just been on such a musical roll delivering new music to fans. Just saw tonight he did another guest vocals thing. Guy is very very busy. Here’s the link.
