Pythian Ramblings I rambled about this, I just had to. Def song of the week status. I really hope it gets Don Broco some more exposure here in the States.
Yeah this is an incredible song, honestly blown away. Might be my favorite thing they've ever put out and I've been a fan for years.
I'll need to spend more time with these singles as nothing has grabbed me like Amazing Things did. Loved Manchester, Swimwear Season, Endorphins and One True Prince especially. I like the vibe and appreciate their commitment to the characteristics that make their style unique but hooks have come up a little short for me thus far, the novelty elements outweighing the actual songwriting which was balanced so well on the last one. Will def stick with them though and give it time.
This is pretty fun. Like most of their releases. A little of everything for everyone. But damn the ones that are catchy are soooo catchy.
Feel the same after listening to the full album, it's not for me. Cool moments but kinda messy throughout whereas I feel their earlier work does a better job of keeping the mid-song vibe changes much more cohesive. The Nickelback feature song is a key offender, the John Mayer repeated line is even a step too far for them. Cool guys and happy for their success but unlikely to revisit this.
I think the first half of Midnight Tripping is all great stuff. Very catchy. The last half I probably won't ever listen to again. It did send me off on a relisten of the last couple. Technology is very mixed. I really like 6 songs and the rest do nothing for me. Amazing Things is just Swimwear, Endorphins, One True Prince. Like I said above, it's all such a mixed bag that unless it's super catchy I don't see myself going back to it.
As usual maybe I'm just not giving this enough of a chance as I've only listened properly twice all the way through but in comparison to previous releases there don't seem to be as many catchy choruses? Going to keep with it though and hope it grows on me
