Not super into either of the songs, or pretty much anything I've heard from him. Or Omar Apollo for that matter. This whole crew has yet to grab me. The first song up there is the best that I've heard of him, I guess. Chicken Tenders is corny as hell
Took long enough for them to finally push a project. Excited to see what he’s got... kinda shocked “3 Nights” isn’t a bonus track to drive streams.
I really like the EP and the songs he did with brockhampton / Kevin, but haven’t liked any of the solo stuff since. Will still give it a listen since I bump 3 nights and Westcoast collective pretty often but expectations are managed.
I liked the EP but I'm interested to see how this turns out. Wasn't super sold on Chicken Tenders cus I agree it's corny (but I also thought Golf On TV by Lennon Stella was insufferable and now I love it, so who knows if it'll grow on me). Excited to check it out nonetheless, he definitely has potential.
Start with the six-song version of the EP that song’s on (called Don’t Forget About Me Demos). There’s a few other jams. His more recent work has been a bit blander IMO but I also like the single “Phone Numbers” and his feature on “Peach” from the Kevin Abstract solo album. He’s only got about 12 total songs released officially.
This is an interesting album, not having very strong feelings after one listen, but it's certainly interesting
This is very good. My only complaint is that I wish some of the tracks were longer or more fleshed out.
I'm actually enjoying this a lot more than I thought from the singles. Chicken Tenders is so stupid but like.. I'm starting to like it too. And if that song wins me over I imagine I'll end up really liking this whole album
solid quick little listen of an album I imagine he’ll only get better but the hooks are there so I’m good
I kinda wished he explored more of that beach boys sound that he did on the Halsey album it was so good
This is pretty good! He's evolving his aesthetic and still has a knack for hooks. I don't expect super introspective lyrics from him but it would be cool if he did more in the vein of "Florida" in the future. I'd love to know what the final music would be if he put a ton of pressure on himself to deliver a masterpiece album.
I was listening to Dogleg and ran upstairs and I guess the first song of this came on and I thought "Who is playing the Aqua Teen Hunger Force theme"?
