Glad the drummer is not taking his side it seems. Reminds me of the I The Mighty situation where the drummer responded directly to the victim on Twitter, and then publicly quit the band.
Fuck that guy, so disappointing. You'd think at this point I couldn't still be disappointed by a dude in a band being awful and yet here we fucking are... Drums on this record fucking ruled, I'll gladly follow whatever they do next if they're on the right side of this
FYI - Parker is the guitarist - Jacob is the drummer. Both seem to be supporting the women. Only 2 I haven't seen anything out of is alex (singer) and Chase (Bass) EDIT: Chase has now liked a few of the tweets as well.
Good to see the rest of the band is supporting the victims instead of their friend. This was way more involved than I initially thought.
Bare minimum bullshit from someone in a band accused of cheating and emotional abuse? Same shit, different day. Fuck you, stay gone.
I mean they are essentially breaking up and taking Alex out of a position of power - I’m being serious in asking what else they should do? I guess they can donate money to some charities and it seems like the other 3 members are standing by the victims
Wouldn't be surprised at all if the bandmates were like "nah, we're out" after seeing them all support the victims. That or "go get some real help, not just "reflect""
Regardless my thoughts are with the victims and I hope Alex finds the help he needs to be a better member of society
I would hope Alex is reflecting and actively working by going to therapy and excusing himself from being in a band again
Honestly was thinking the same thing. People often talk about “bare minimum” responses but I rarely hear what a “good” response is, or rather a good way to handle these situations. Wouldn’t putting the band on hiatus, taking time to reflect, and seeking help be good ways to handle this situation? I also don’t really understand what more they could do.
As far as these statements go, that is a decent one. That second paragraph doesn't quite fully address the scope of what the allegations were but otherwise this checks most of the boxes: -Don't blame the accusers -Don't make bullshit excuses -Accept responsibility for your actions -Deplatform yourself -Apologize
Maybe all we need to know is that they’re going away, and the accountability process can take place with the survivors (or not, if they don’t want to be a part of it). Just seems weird for a bunch of strangers to like “rate” the apology, ya know?
Looks like worst party ever took their spot on the Free Throw tour. Don't think Touche Amore has filled their spot yet.
Just for clarity, what did Alex do in the band? Could they move on without him or is he a vocalist or something?
Very surprised to see him speak out on Austin Vansen. Seems pretty clear that he is using his dads money to try and silence people and threaten with lawsuits. Good on Parker for doing that.
