Yeah I am a fan of Jodie, excited for this. I still need to see the newest season, haven't had cable for the past few months.
People are so butt hurt over this and I love it. Jodie is fantastic. Can't wait to see what the show is like with her as the lead.
I haven't seen many reactions but I can only imagine. I don't really know who Jodie is but should be interesting. I feel like we're really getting robbed if Bills not around for the regeneration. It'd be great to see a companion react to the Doctor becoming a woman, and I think Pearl would do a great job with it.
I am loving both this choice and the internets reaction to it. So divided. You have people loving the idea, and then people going "rawr the show is dead final season this is stupid" Or being downright sexist. I for one am pleased. She was excellent on Broadchurch, as was the creator who is taking over show runner for DW. We are in for a ride. Also go watch broadchurch on Netflix if you haven't.
Honestly I've seen mostly positive reactions. I don't doubt that there are plenty of places where men are whining and crying, but the majority of people I've seen seem on board. Or I'm just successful at avoiding those types of places on the internet haha
lol Thanks for taking me out of my fantasy world where people have reasonable reactions regarding the casting of a fictional television character.
I am so onboard for this! Love/hate seeing the polar opposite reactions to a female doctor. Amazing how people will freak out about fucking gender on a show like Doctor Who.
It's always unjust and moronic, but it just seems moreso with Doctor Who, a show whereby they literally replace the actor as part of the storyline, and who isn't even human.. In my mind it's kind of how I think of Dax in Star Trek: DS9. Its a show that generally embraces and thrives off change, and there's no doubt this will continue to do that.
