spin-off was a bit of a nothingburger in the end. great acting from the cast but the story went nowhere

 

I'm five audios away from finishing the BF Main Range for the first time ever. skipped quite a few I knew were bad along the way but still pretty wild how quick I got through it

also rewatching some Capaldi while I'm at my parents place, this era was so peak. pretty much everything is just the best it's ever been during season 9 especially

 

finally got to Hooklight half a year later, that was absolutely peak stuff. Tim Foley is on his way to becoming one of the greatest writers DW has ever had

also as a die-hard lover of Davison's era I love how well they've been treating Five at Big Finish recently, he's been getting phenomenal writing. The Lost Resort and Pursuit of the Nightjar were both all-timers from the last few years too

Huge bummer that it’ll likely be a long hiatus, but not totally surprising. Will be interested to see what the next iteration looks like.

Time for a much needed break tbh, I haven't excited for a series in a long time at this point. I'd rather they get some fresh new blood that take it to exciting directions again if a future series eventually gets announced. Until then, I'd be fine with it being on hiatus. It needs a complete creative overhaul.

 

I’m happy RTD is gone. I disliked the decision to bring him back from the jump.

Hopefully the hiatus won’t be too long, but I’m fine with taking a step back.

 

Let the show go away and let some new showrunners who were raised on “Rory is the Master” theories take it over in the 2030s

 

they should just give some of the newer Big Finish writers the reins to the show at this point. whoever runs the War Doctor range is absolutely killing it

 

I was all for RTD coming back because I love his initial run so much, but the results obviously were hit or miss at best. I'll be here for whenever/whatever form it comes back in though.
