Oh no! I thought there were four specials this year (with this New Year episode being the first) - are there only three?! edit: literally only two more. Can’t believe it.
I was so confused when Dan said he'd been traveling with them for 3 years, but I forgot him and Yaz got stuck back in time for a while. Had to think really hard about that. I did really enjoy the episode though. I was kind of dreading another Dalek episode, but I'm a sucker for a timeloop so I didn't mind. I do feel like there's more to address regarding the flux that we're just not going to get. Specifically what someone said before about how most the universe was already destroyed by the time they stopped it? But I'll just go with stopping the flux reversed the damage, timey wimey and all that
Yeah the universe is still mostly destroyed and it sucks that we're probably not going to get any closure for that, but such is Who.
Yeah. At least in this episode Dan and Yaz seemed to have a strong bond. Still weird that neither of them really gave much of a shit that the guy they travelled the world with for 3 years died though.
I wish the Flux series had less random characters and allowed Dan & Yaz to shine. More screen time for them would have streamlined and enhanced Flux.
I feel like Flux started off pretty strong in the first few episodes (at least in my opinion) but by the fourth and fifth episode, when Chibnall was still adding more characters and more and more plot, I knew it was gonna be a mess of an ending lol The Christmas special was good though, one of the better episodes of Chibnall's run. I'm also excited for the Sea Devils to make a return
eh I'm guessing Tennant has been asked to return for the 60th/RTD's comeback special and news outlets are exaggerating it as always. I think RTD would know just bringing an old Doctor back for a full run might actually break the show
I saw some fan art recently of Tennant as The Master and that got my mind racing. Him going around acting like the Doctor, but really screwing things up and manipulating things as a master plan channeling Jessica Jones Purple Man and his Good Omens character. That would be the only way I want him back permanently and I know there’s a 0% chance of that happening, but I can dream.
I'm totally up for Tennant returning for a special or two, either a multiple Doctors thing or just a story that takes place during his original run if they can get some of the other cast from that era back. He's my favorite Doctor, but I hope it's not more than that.
I've actually always wanted an arc where The Doctor and Master were played by the same actor, so much potential for disorienting the audience when they don't know who's who. that being said I want it to happen when Iain de Caestecker is Doctor and not a second before
Wanting Tennant to come back is insane to me. Nostalgia is death. I’d rather the show go away until 2034 or some shit than repeat a Doctor.
Sea Devil’s was fun, still had all the same problems Chibs eps have always had but i enjoyed it. Trailer for the next ep looks sick.
Thought the episode last night was an absolute state. I don't think I've ever wanted to turn an episode off before, but I was close several times with that one.
Haha. I've not really enjoyed this generation much in general. If you've enjoyed the last two series, you'll be fine.
