It would be dope if that is how he showed he likes a movie. I think I'm on to something. Someone tweet him that.

Based on that, now that I think about it this does kinda sound like Marvel Studios Evil Dead

what i'm curious about that wasn't mentioned here, unless i missed em:

    - wanda
    - christine (as in, does rachel mcadams get a ton to do here like or is it merely more than the last time)
    - visuals
    - avatar teaser
    - should i agonize over whether or not it's more a raimi movie than an mcu like countless others are doing

What I want to know: does Strange have a coherent character arc? Or does that Benedict quote from a while back accurate in that it’s really not clear.

The conversation being focused on Raimi first and the Marvel studio second for once is nice

I’ve heard from a few that Strange has a good arc.

I think it’s more about Wanda’s arc, but Strange has one too.

Interesting. I enjoy Wanda a lot and relate to her grief. Can’t wait.

I’ve heard it said, Wanda is very much a comfort character if you vibe out on sadness. And, I feel that, lol. :scarlet:

    - Wanda’s good. Well, I mean she’s the antagonist, but a good character.
    - Rachel McAdams still isn’t given much to do, but always appreciate her presence.
    - The CGI, like all Marvel movies, is spotty. Some of it is very good and some quite bad.
    - There was no teaser, but screenings rarely get trailers.
    - I’d say it’s 50/50. The Raimi stuff will make you smile.

appreciate it (though i meant - and should’ve specified - if there was any incredible 3D like in the first doctor strange), i’m catching this tomorrow and everything sounds like i’ll enjoy myself if i temper expectations a bit

  13. This was good! Not my favorite Marvel movie by any means but was a lot of fun.

Just got back from an advance screening here... mixed thoughts. I will say we did have the Avatar teaser lead off our trailers in Australia though - which was about what you’d expect (all flashy style and little in the way of story or substance).

The rest... I will sit on for a couple days while everyone else gets around this!

I was looking for recap videos on Youtube of what's necessary to know/remember going in and of course youtube was recommending me full on spoilers. Whatever I'll live

All you really need to know is the ending of Wandavision and Doctor Strange 1

Spoiler vids are up on YouTube, or at least I just got my first one.

Title was Wanda kills Mr Fantastic

liked this a good deal. won’t be the best P4 but i’m still weirdly eager to catch it again. doesn’t hurt that i’ve been watching a ton of raimi stuff that helped me bask in certain flourishes more easily. probably would’ve liked it more if it was screened in imax/dolby

stay for the mid-credits. post-credits scene is… one of those

movie slaps. the Black Sabbath tweet is the most accurate tweet so far. they let Raimi be Raimi and it rules

One - if not the most important of all of the post credit scenes so far.
