I saw a comparison made to Iron Man 3 which great! That is one of the best movies the MCU has ever put out

Trevor is actually Professor X. The fact that he doesn’t know how to control the hover chair gives it away.

I liked it with some reservations. It does feel like it’s a Marvel movie at odds with being a Sam Raimi film. There’s not a whole lot of depth to what Strange and Wanda are searching for. The results are pretty much exactly what you would expect, which is kind of disappointing, considering the warmth and fullness the characters and their universe had in the first two “Spider Man” films (The blame for that is solely on the script and not Raimi).

Action sequences just kind of happen at random (specifically a fight of musical notes that I loved, but I think others will hate). America feels more like a Macguffin than a character.

As a Raimi fan, I love his little touches at the beginning - the shaky can that locks on to screaming bystanders, the POV shots, the general weirdness. It fully embraces its Raimi-ness several times in the movie and makes it feel like okay, this is why he was chosen to helm this. It’s good to have him back.

I both enjoyed it and also felt like I wanted more out of it.

Also - the second stinger is great. And this is better than IM3, haha. That movie can go to hell.

He’s fine. Not really in it long enough to make any kind of impression.

In spite of your Iron Man 3 take being wrong, I always appreciate your early reactions to these things.

 

Reading through the plot, sounds like I'm just there for Raimi.

 

Is the action at least staged well? I thought NWH looked like shit, had bad action and a messy script so i enjoyed it much less than most people. At this point i'm hoping if it's going to be more multiverse nonsense (which we already had EEAAO so we're set for life on that), we'd at least get some fun Raimi directed sequences at the bare minimum

 

The action is well staged and better than NWH.

He unlocks the multiverse where Kevin Costner pitches a perfect game and the Simple Plan works.

that Plan was so Simple, it was a real shocker when it didn't work tbh
