There's a real ceiling on how excited I can get for most MCU projects right now, but Sam Raimi directing something with the Scarlet Witch, America Chavez, and some version of Charles Xavier is also hard to resist. Keeping expectations low, especially since this seems tied to so many other Marvel projects and drove away its original director. But, there's certainly a chance of it being fun in the specific ways that Marvel's built for.

We'll see if it's a genuinely good superhero adventure, a dumb mess that scratches the right pleasure centers of my brain, or just another obligatory Marvel Studios episode.

 

I’m trying to think, but Strange might me the marvel hero I’m most interested in seeing more of at this point. Loved Cap and Stark and they’re both gone. Thor is up there too after Ragnarok. He might still be #1. Tchalla/Boseman tragically gone. Spiderman is always cool but I’m def not a spidey fanboy like a lot here. Guardians are cool.

But Strange I’m interested to see how this goes. He seems like a defacto leader of whatever is left of “The Avengers” at this point (though I assume they don’t actually exist as a group right now and that’s where the Young Avengers angle is going). At least in his knowledge of what’s going on, Strange seems like “the guy” right now

i didn’t watch DD and haven’t seen the new spidey yet so yeah that could change too.
I do love Thor as well and like I said def could still be my #1. Ragnarok is probably my favorite marvel movie at this point haha

Individual directors giving us different flavors is going to have to be how this universe evolves and maintains freshness. Let’s just hope Marvel doesn’t lose steam in that realm. Coogler, Watiti, Raimi, etc.

 

Strange is one of the more interesting to me due to the capabilities of his side of the Marvel universe. Mysticism and spirituality is something that is extremely captivating. Merging that with superheroes is just fun.

I feel like a lot will come out of it.

 

For the first time ever I need one of those "EASTER EGGS EXPLAINED" videos because I missed all the cameos lol

But this does look very cool, also loving the Elfman score

 

Murdock would most def lead a street level Avengers

 

Murdock is for sure getting a boost to Avengers-level attention.

I don’t see Strange being a leader of the Avengers (Midnight Suns at best). I can see Banner co-leading the Avengers with Captain America (brains and strategy combined).

 

New Cap is def leading the Avengers, they gave him his own show with Bucky as a sidekick

 

And he is getting his own film.

 

Yes! Still curious about what a potential plot could be.

 

He’s gonna finally get that bank loan

 

This trailer has got me very excited

 

Safe to say this movie is still Doctor strange centric with all the cameos

 

Wait... is Capt Marvel part of Allumnati?

 

To be honest the only thing I'm not sure about is some of the multiverse stuff feels REAL nerdy. and I say that as a nerd.

Like the rumoured Tom Cruise cameo is REALLY fucking nerdy to get the whole joke. But it's a bit like Matt Damon's cameo at the beginning of Ragnarok. It works on multiple levels, and people don't need to "get" the specifics of the reference to understand what it's representing.

Stewart Professor Xavier and Mr Fantastic is... I guess it's cool, but it's not like in No Way Home where having the OG actors and characters return makes sense as the conclusion to a trilogy and some EARNED fanservice, plus it's all Spider-Man related Just kind of feels like a cameo for its own sake watching it right now.

 

In this version, it's rumored that a Maria Rambeau/Captain Marvel variant is part of the Illuminati, yes.

 

Last I heard the Illuminati in this is Clea (variant of Christine), Mordo (variant), Balder the Brave, Xavier, Captain Carter, and Maria!Captain Marvel, but there's been a good bit of reshoots since that leak so that could've changed

 

I’ve heard Mr. Fantastic is in the Illuminati with Ioan Gruffudd reprising his role a bit

 

There have been so many conflicting reports on Reed being in it and whether or not it'll be Krasinski or Gruffudd that anything could happen there. Hell it could be the guy from the 90s movie at this point

 

If it's true that Patrick Stewart is back as Xavier, then I would expect Gruffudd to play Reed.

But hey, it's Marvel, so who knows.

 

I’ve heard of the possibility that Strange meets the Gruffudd Reed in the movie and he seeks out Krasinski Reed in a post-credits scene.
