  1. Old friend refers to Mordo, right? Synopsis words it as if it's a mystery.

In another attempt at using Stark tech to get back at Brad, Spider-Man unintentionally opens up the multiverse.

“Research on the time stone” sounds pretty vague. He could be looking at its origins, how to replicate it, how to locate it, etc.

Hmm I don't know enough of Raimi's work to decide my opinion. Spider-Man 2 is the only one I love in the franchise and I can't think of anything else I've seen from him. Apparently he was behind that awful Wizard of Oz remake?

The Evil Dead and its two sequels. Although they are campy horror films they might be slightly relevant due to Nightmare being in this film.

Raimi would be an excellent choice I think. His horror work is fantastic.

If Raimi does end up directing this, will @Nathan like it? :chin:

Really, though, anyone jumping into a film-by-committee this close to shooting, which recently drove away its passionate previous director, will probably only be able to do so much. Especially since it'll be super digital effects heavy, & Raimi is best w/ practical effects. But, he does have a certain quirky charm that could bring some life to the character scenes between the bigger sequences.

Does it even matter who they hire? Disney/Marvel Studios have made it very clear that they're in charge of the film, the director is basically a middleman.

Just bring in someone who is capable of directing without any substance or style and it'll go smoothly.

I don't have strong feeling about Raimi either way. But if he agrees to this, it's for a paycheck with a little bonus for adding his name to the product.
