Do you miss AbsolutePunk at all?

Saw this Tweet and reply and wanted to post it here. I think it's interesting people say this because I find Chorus to be better than AbsolutePunk and there aren't really many music forums like this one out there.

Personally, it's like any other site that does a redesign, I usually hate it for a week and then forget the older version ever existed.

Maybe I'm older now and know how to navigate better to threads that spark my interest, but Chorus has been much more civil.

So no, I don't miss it. If it was still around, it'd probably be something that I grew out of. Thanks to Jason for keeping it fresh.

I mean it's not like I have an obscene amount of posts on here but I basically didn't post on AP at all because it seemed like so many people at the time were dickheads. Things have always seemed much more relaxed and civil here

 

kind nostalgic for it actually.

i think ap really had some kinda influence in the "scene." it was niche too.

this site is wayyy better, but I don't think its a platform with the same influence anymore. partly cause music tastes are more broad?

i dunno.

No, but really I don't miss it at all. I use chorus way more and honestly don't feel it's too different since many of the posters i liked before migrated here.

This place is so much better in literally every way, but I definitely have nostalgia for the AP days (although I never posted back then).

there's individual things i miss about it, like some "would read again" threads/posts, or the comparatively easier access to bands and artists i otherwise wouldn't be as familiar with or plugged into, but largely it's the best thing that we have chorus now. it's a far better environment for being able to be yourself and state your opinion on whatever (albeit within reason, on both accounts) without getting torn apart by some piece of shit

 

yeah i felt bad clicking a hard 'no' but, if you gave me the option to return to AP or keep chorus i'd keep chorus 10 out of 10 times

 

I just miss the aesthetics with it lol, good nostalgia

 

also i said some STUPID ASS SHIT back in the day and i'm entirely relieved now those posts have gotten the axe
