I remember buying Slipknot on CD because I liked seeing clowns in masks on the cover. Had no idea who they were and what type of music they played but 13 year old me didn't need much convincing at that age.

 

Another good example is this other 1999 classic but that one I bought on cassette.

I forgot how good 1999 was for nu metal it also gave us this classic. I remember being pretty excited to pop this one in my sony Walkman haha

I remember when “Nookie” was first released, a local radio station had a top 9 at 9 for the most requested songs every night, and that song was requested so much they played it 9 times in a row every night for like a week.
