At least I took the opportunity when it presented itself and saw Enter The Void on the big screen. 2001 might be the ultimate trip but ETV is definitely the runner up.

I’ve seen both The Shining and Clockwork Orange on the big screen, but I missed 2001 when it was in town. Clockwork Orange was an original print though, so that was a really rad experience

    I prefer simply Johnny.

Great song and band. ATWA brings me back. Such a nostalgic band to me.

If anyone is looking for anything else to listen to as you’re wrapping up your year end lists, I can’t recommend VAVÁ enough. Great guitar work with vocals that drift between something like Dirty Projectors and St. Vincent.

    The Other Side, by VAVÁ

I want to see that movie again so glad I own it on blu ray! I borrowed Loving from the library but never ended up watching it. I want to watch Take Shelter with the director commentary from Jeff Nichols. That movie is a fucking classic. Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain were so good in it. And the score by David Wingo is pitch perfect. Also for such a low budget movie the special effects are so understated and impressive. I've read so much on that movie definitely one of my favorite movies. I'm so fascinated by everything about it. Have you seen Jeff Nichols other movies? The only I have yet to see is Loving.

Also speaking of featurette before Close Encounters, Incendies by Denis Villeneuve is a must see. @Larry David @Mary V @ComedownMachine the opening scene utilizes You and whose army so perfectly. Such a breathtaking movie.

Yeah, I took a long break. Work was getting mad stressful and I was having a hard time following any of my established routines. I’m trying to ease myself back now that I know I have a break coming up and my mood is improving.

Yeah well at least watch the opening but honestly that movie is incredible. The twist will mess you up. It was nominated for a best foreign Oscar if that helps you want to watch. Denis Villeneuve is a French Canadian director and this was the last movie he made before going all Hollywood on us. I've been to TIFF when he was there for his early movies. He's definitely come a long way since then.
