No jealousy from me friend. San Diego Mexican food > TexMex

    TexMex is still good though

Thread blew up in the past hour

@littlejohn i watched the second episode too. It was good so far. I’m trying not to compare it to Stranger Things.

@Larry David im having Wendy’s for lunch and usually that doesn’t end well for me either

She has to understand, there's no reason to change something like that and only announce it through email and not expect people to miss it, especially if you announce it the day before the new date. Also it might be against your university/college's policy to hold finals at a different time than is set by the school, so worst comes to worst you can try to bring it up with the school/department admins.

    these look pretty good.

uhhhh who is talking about TexMex? that's a different food style that doesn't even come close to comparing.

San Diego mexican is just as good as El Paso mexican food.
I'm saying that mexican food closer to the border is better than mexican food further from the border (sorry @Larry David, I'm sure you have better maple syrup than I have in texas)

so these tacos were just OK, they weren't anything special. the beans and rice were fine. altogether I would probably rate it a 6/10. there's a better place a a few miles away but this is walking distance so I thought I'd try it again.

Lucky for me, I've experienced the best of both worlds.

I used to live in San Diego, and I have a ton of family in San Antonio so I visit there from time to time

If I ever get back I’ll check it out. I’m a bit of French toast connoisseur.

I opted to go for a 3rd taco instead of the rice and beans. And these were good, not great – probably a 7.5/10 – the tortillas and salsas were excellent, and the mole sauce on the chicken was a nice surprise, but the steak and pork were just ok.

But since it was downstairs and I didn't have to leave the building, that was a no-brainer.

yeah the chips and salsa with my meal were probably the highlight of it. I'd go back just for the salsa.

I think I would have liked the rice and beans had they been hotter and if my table had a salt shaker.

That's fair! I misunderstood. I've never had Mexican food in El Paso specifically. Every time I've been in El Paso it was passing through. But I'm willing to agree with you because the further north you go in California the worse the Mexican food gets haha

that's good. SA has some good mexican food.

next time you're in texas we should get together, at least do a stop and chat.

mostly I was mad about you calling texas mexican food "texmex" when that's completely different (not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just NOT mexican food)
