agreed. probably shouldn't have said probably. I could say 100% that they are objectively the best food.


there are so many kinds of tacos too.

my favorite type of taco is probably picadillo tacos, which is ground beef with potatoes. my mom makes them and they are the best.


also soft tacos are barely tacos if that. they are open faced burritos. I like them and they are good, but they are not officially tacos in my book.



and if you're making tacos you better be frying your own shells.

Umm, you have that backwards. Hard shells are not acceptable for tacos, those are folded tostadas. The only way to eat tacos is with soft, corn tortillas. If you're using flour tortillas for tacos, you deserve diarrhea.

I'd say start with the new one and go backwards.

 

Tostadas I like super crispy.
when I fry shells for tacos they aren't hard, they are slightly crispy, folded over, a little chewy, if you over fry them they get hard and fall apart. I do like soft corn tortillas though also. when I said soft tacos I was talking about soft flour tortillas, not corn.

Flour tortillas are for burritos.

 

@skurt did you listen to the new Hail the Sun ep yet?

 

also if you haven't had good crispy tacos I feel very bad for you, because you are missing out.

 

The best way to prepare soft corn tortillas is to toast them, lightly, over the open flame of your grill or stove.

And only fresh tortillas, not those Mission "tortillas".

 

I will do that
