How?!

 

It's just really beautiful. I see it as a love letter to his wife and I adore that. It's also one of, if not the best, representations of grief I've ever heard in music and it really resonates with me. I've gone biking at night while listening to it and it's very calming

 

That’s the thing, I’m the same way about this kind of statements but that album is unlike anything I’ve ever heard

I had an interesting thought listening to it this afternoon. And before I’ll explain my thought, let me say i agreed with this post 3 hours ago haha. But while listening to the album today i had the thought “this is getting easier to listen to”, and initially i felt kind of guilty actually for thinking that. But then i was listening to the words on “My Chasm” and Phil is talking about how he can turn a grocery store aisle into a situation where people are just trying to get away from having to interact with him during his mourning. I realized then “maybe this becoming an easier listen isn’t a bad thing”. Maybe just listening to someone’s words is more important than feeling guilty that it’s getting easier not to cry listening to said words.

Does that make any sort of sense?

 

I still haven't been able to listen for a second time. I'll try tomorrow, and see if I can see your sides better! Maybe the second listen and on will be easier since the initial shock is over.
