For Long Beach, a 3BR for $2100 is pretty damn good!

I have a mortgage for a 3 BR, two story house here in NY for $800.

That's stunningly high. Guess it makes sense why my family didn't stay living in San Diego

Yeah $2100 is more like a 2BR apartment in San Diego, and either a not great 2BR or a pretty good 1BR in LA (proper).

    Edit: For comparison:
    • I was paying $850 for a 2BR (shotgun) house in New Orleans.
    • I was paying $900-$950 to live in a bedroom in someone else's house in San Francisco.

My mortgage is $1000 for a 3BR. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford *leaving anywhere nice in Ca.

I was looking at 1 bedroom apartments in San Diego that are the same cost as my girlfriend’s family’s 5 bedroom house in Colorado

This reads like something the Crypt Keeper would say. EEEAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

I miss life when I was in grad school paying $315* plus utilities to live in a shitty apartment in Central Illinois, but I digress...

*Total rent was $630 for a tiny 2BR/1BA.

When I saw The Early November last month, Ace kept talking about 2003. He was like "we're playing songs from the Room's Too Cold, so let's travel back to 2003. You've all got flipped phones. You should really buy a house now because in 14 years, no one will be able to afford one."

If I had the option of buying a house at 13 I would have certainly tried.

Okay, not really. I forgot to bring a lunch, so I bought two donuts and ate them in a matter of seconds.

I did! Don't really remember much of it (which applies to nearly everything I watched as a kid). You?

I remember tv shows I watched as a kid better than I remember family memories. It's kinda depressing actually. My wife will ask me questions about growing up and I don't have any answers, but I can explain six years of Digimon plot in great detail.

Haha, when I was in law school my 2 friends and I got a shitty apartment in Chicago for $750/month, plus utilities. The place sucked, but it was cheap!

That's harsh. Hopefully you have lots of pictures from your childhood to help jog your memory?

Yeah. My mom took lots. But there's little things, like I don't remember what kind of food my mom made for dinner. I know that we rarely ate out. My favorite memories were when my dad would rent a Jackie Chan movie and bring home wings. I remember that. We watched a lot of Jackie Chan. But I remember every episode of Malcolm in the Middle with much more clarity.

New Black Foxxes tune is pretty tight. Listening to it now.
