Echoing some of your thoughts on The Punisher...it is enjoyable enough, yes. However, the show is severely lacking an opposing philosophy that Daredevil provided. A large part of what made DD's season 2 so enjoyable was the result of pitting these two extremely contradicting ethos against each other. Remember the rooftop fight between the two? Some of the best dialogue Marvel has to offer on Netflix.

The Punisher feels more like straightforward acceptance of death's glorification, because "the bad guys deserve it". Which is okay...but totes a bluntness that is not very compelling.

EDIT: I'm only 4 episodes in.
