Thanks bud. I'm doing better. I think at least a couple of people got my message.

 

I've been lurking over there. I haven't listened to the band much but some of the fans there (and elsewhere) defending misogynistic lyrics that the singer himself condemns make me very uncomfortable. It's good to believe people can grow and change. I wish more people were up to do so though

 

For anyone who has not heard my avatar do yourself a favor and check it out ok. Better late than never to catch up on a classic

 

Their first album had some groundbreaking stuff that is, rightfully, overshadowed by the rampant, violent sexism throughout.

They learned. They grew. And their second album might be my all time favorite album ever.

 

I love this post. Ugly Organ and Happy Hollow are 2 of my favorites. Burst and Bloom is one of my favorite songs also.


Need to listen to all their other albums more though.

I would be very surprised if this is true!

 

They have my respect for growing, learning, and more so for acknowledging some of the lyrics were horrific. I have nothing against the band. I have an issue with fans who put their love for a band before people affected by rampant, violent sexism - including survivors who have endured countless experiences, men who have absorbed toxic ideals at impressionable times, and people who internalised misogyny when they couldn't know better.

 

Maybe, I don't remember that one at all. maybe I'll try to listen to it tomorrow.

This would explain alot about his personality, he doesn't/hasn't ever touched a drop of alcohol so he says.

Oh same here. That's why I was trying so hard to change their minds instead of driving them away.

My point is that you should check out Glassjaw's Worship and Tribute. It's a common theory that "Ape Dos Mil" is an apology of sorts for the content on their previous record.

 

I'll check it out as soon as I can :)

I've never been drunk.

I don't really care for alcohol too much, my favorite drinks are margaritas. I like other frozen fruity drinks too. but I've never drank enough to get drunk.
