Kind of, but not really. Kraft singles have a particularly plasticy and mouth coating flavor to me that I really dislike. White american is absolutely necessary to make stuff like restaurant style queso and other types are perfect for adding to mac and cheese or other dishes that need something creamy and easy to melt.
