Don’t know, just not really part of the culture. Southern breakfast are great of course, but finding delicious food at any time of day can be tricky. Like the stereotypes of where kids go after concerts are all chains like ihop or just fast food because there aren’t really local places open near any of the venues we all went to growing up. I do have to take it back though, there IS one place I remembered that is open all the time nearby, but it’s truly awful and no one would ever recommend going there.
i've had breaded and fried pepper jack sticks and yes, we should absolutely be using other cheeses like this. why don't we?
I've seen fried brie a lot too, but you're right. We should be breading & frying all of the cheeses which melt well.
Wooooo! Well I have tons of recommendations for places that are NOT there. Like there was literally a thread on the local subreddit today about how much of a cesspool it is and it cracked me up because we were just having this discussion.
City Diner is very much a legit greasy spoon kind of place, but they’re in the “only open for breakfast and early lunch” category.
Scott’s Addition has blown up a ton in the past few years, so that’s a hot spot for sure. I live in Glen Allen which is a little outside of town but has some good aspects as well. Other places in the West End are kind of similar to my area. It definitely depends on what your priorities are because just a few miles can make a huge difference in what’s around. I don’t usually go south of the river much but there are a few cool places there too.
Yeah west end and museum were the places we were looking. That and VCU. My girlfriend wants to be able to walk to work so being close to a hospital is pretty much all we've narrowed down
