I feel like eventually everyone gets what's coming to them one way or another

we might not know about it but everyone has their downfall but that's just my opinion

That’s a good point. But then I again I can’t know how they feel inside when they’re alone or when they’re reaching the end.

But does a downfall really equal karma? like yeah maybe they “get whats coming to them” but like taking trump for example. Even something horrible happening to him wouldn’t erase the good times and money he’s had and the power he’s welded and all the other ways he was “rewarded”. I guess that’s why I can’t believe that karma is really getting what you give because if that were true so many shitty people would have shittier situations lol

yeah fair point. But does how they feel inside matter? Like yeah they are miserable but they are miserable comfortably which most people don’t get in this country

Sure, but if there is such a thing as karma, I don’t think you can expect it to be more precise than that, “fair“ or not

    Yeah I guess that’s true

I guess I always associated karma as an even exchange type thing. I know it’s not totally even but I can’t see it being anywhere close lol. Like so not close that it...renders it invalid

Yeah it definitely does. A belief in a concept like this is again one of those that definitely depends on how you think it actually functions. A crude understanding that I've heard is that it would be that some cosmic entity is keeping score or that the universe has some intrinsic sense of anthropomorphic justice that it magically dishes out at some "will" in some eye for an eye sense, which obviously isn't true (as others have already noted, bad people seemingly get away with bad shit all the time). In any complex dynamical system though, of which human interaction and society is one, you can expect attractors. Obviously there are way too many variables to even closely model that but it's been observed to be pretty much universally true (if you want to see how weird it gets look into Feigenbaum constants). Within chaotic systems objects with very similar starting conditions can result in wildly different and unpredictable outcomes, however, order and repetition can still arise, and especially under the influence of dampening effects, which can be thought of as actions and behaviors. In a very real but virtually impossible to trace sense those actions can lead you towards or around one attractor versus another, where you will be surrounded by other individuals how have made similar choices fundamentally because that's the nature of dynamical systems. Obviously no one is trying to model this mathematically but the fundamental truth behind is still essentially a mathematical truth in nature, the rest of the details of what those actions are are pretty readily summed up and classified through notions of morality. Anyways people used to just sum this up by saying like attracts like. So if you make bad decisions you can get caught in a loop of making bad decisions along with other people who make bad decisions which will inevitably make your life worse.

    wanna go for a ryyyde

im not sure if i do, probably a little. i definitely share the above sentiment about shitty selfish ppl getting rewarded in life all the time. i would like to believe a lot of those ppl do pay back for it a little by suffering w guilt but who knows. i will say i have definitely gotten weirdly more superstitious w age who knows tho maybe its just some undiagnosed ocd lol.

all i know is when really good things happen to me, or i avoid bad things, i try to do something good after to restore my karma so to speak. like giving money to a panhandler or something. otherwise it feels like im taking more from the world then im giving.
