I think I gotta go Rushmore.

 

I've seen his first five films so many times that I have them committed to memory, but I haven't rewatched any of the newer ones.

 

Went with Budapest, but his filmography is stunning. There’s about five others I could have just as easily gone with.

 

tenenbaums is easily my favorite, though i still enjoy pretty much everything he’s done.

 

The man has never made a bad film.

 

Who is the Steve Zissou voter?

 

darjeeling is the only one that comes closest to being any less than good for me

 

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is his weak link to me. If someone were to make a movie parodying Wes Anderson, it would look very similar to Steve Zissou.

 

Darjeeling Limited is very good. The Life Aquatic is the low point; it feels more like one of the many pretenders trying to make a Wes Anderson film than an actual Wes Anderson film.

This thread is making me so sad we still don't know the fate of The French Dispatch

 

Grand Budapest is such a slam dunk number 1 for this one. Its everything I want in a movie, especially in a theater setting. Big colorful sets, big colorful characters, snappy writing, a fun plot thats very funny and dark at the same time. Great score.

Tenenbaums, Rushmore are tied for 2nd.
Then fox

I didnt really care for moonrise kingdom or isle of dogs.

First you said Color of Money was your favorite Scorsese, now Rushmore is your least favorite Wes Anderson. I can't wait for you to sing the praises of Jack when we get to Francis Ford Coppola.

 

I still haven’t seen Isle of Dogs

 

i think it's towards the bottom of his catalog but it's worth watching

 

Wes Anderson has always had a questionable reputation with non-white portrayals in his movies so Isle of Dogs always felt a little off.
