    Pick your fave!

Gonna list in reverse order since I don't know that anyone will pick earlier works.

Feel free to list ideas for other threads here

2001: A Space Odyssey is a landmark film, but both Dr. Strangelove and Barry Lyndon are close runner-ups.

Full Metal Jacket is a top five film for me. Love everything about it. I think a lot of his filmography would be top 50 though. Dr. Strangelove is probably my second fave.

I understand the site limit for polls, but Paths of Glory is a masterpiece and Spartacus is not. The Killing is better than Spartacus, as well.

Tough to think of another director where pretty much every film is an iconic classic in some way. Hard to choose between 2001, Strangelove, and Clockwork Orange.

Its honestly the reason I don't do Jay-Z, Rolling Stones, Beatles in music forum. Cutting out classic stuff for the sake of poll limits is fucking difficult. No idea how I do Coppola or Spielberg.

I need to do a Lyndon, Jacket, and Clockwork rewatch, but until I do I’d go:

    2001
    Eyes
    Shining

Yeah, love Paths and Killing too — what a legend.

I actually have a 2001 tattoo, am currently wearing a Shining shirt, received a couple of books about Kubrick for xmas last month — this is definitely the hardest one for me to rate. But I do know for sure 2001 is number one, maybe the greatest film ever IMO.

Has to be A Clockwork Orange for me, Eyes Wide Shut and 2001 aren't far behind though.

With Coppola, the difficulty is in finding something that people would pick beyond the big four.

Barry Lyndon for me, but I almost when Strangelove.

I still have not seen Eyes Wide Shut. I'll need to correct that soon.

Had no idea 2001 came out before Clockwork. That film still feels so timeless

My answer is probably just whichever I watched the most recently, so Dr. Strangelove

Kubrick is one of those guys that is worshipped by film nerds but also actually is as good as his reputation.

Also, Kubrick is a great entry point into discovering more cinema - I loved reading his top films list and watching Fellini and Bergman films for the first time because of it

He wrenches on it. He thinks it's his.

I went A Clockwork Orange. One of the first more artsy films I saw as a budding film lover and it still takes my breath away in its thesis and execution. Every single Kubrick film has images that stick with you (he was a photographer after all) but ACO is the most striking to my eye.

I’m finishing this book (Christmas gift from my girlfriend) and it’s a great look at Stanley the man and employer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1950691063/?tag=absolutepunk-20
