Shutter Island is one of the rare instances where the ending of the movie is actually way better than the book's ending. And yeah it's lower-tier Scorsese but it's still a solid, enjoyable movie.
I had fun with it but that type of unreliable protagonist thing was too prominent in movies for a minute back then
Just rewatched departed, it’s good, but definitely doesn’t hold up as well — had some noticeable editing and script issues
Just watched Shutter for the first time in a decade. Despite its issues, think I like it more than the departed now. might have to go through wolf and goodfellas next
Goodfellas was just a little too long for me. Brilliant, but a little too long for that 100/100. The Departed was flawless, however.
My list is weird, I get it: 1. After Hours 2. Mean Streets 3. Goodfellas 4. The Irishman 5. The Wolf of Wall Street
wow I hate that article. also Gangs of NY is easily Scorseses most cartoonish movie, didn’t even get that right.
