Dir en Grey is a Japanese metal band. Their tenth album was released last year. Withering to Death is an all-time favorite of mine. I think a lot of people on here would dig them.

Scenes from the “Obscure” video still pop up in my nightmares from time to time. Great band.

  5. Was obsessed with them in the mid to late 00's but failed to catch up to every following release since. Withering To Death and Uroboros are classics.

The Final was one of my OG emo jams. I have seen them live a few times, they go hard. My friend said their newest album is good, I have to check it out. I'm the same as @Petit nain des Îles, was big into them around that time but fell off.

I’m listening to their new album now actually. I’m half way through and it’s a lot heavier than their older stuff.

Anyone listen to the new album yet? It’s great so far.

I've listened to it everyday since release. I enjoyed it on my first listen but it was not what I was expecting when they were hyping it up to be heavy, I was expecting a bit more DSS heaviness. That being said, it has grown on me and I kind of adore it now. Everything just works and flows really well. I'm definitely satisfied.
