Oh I definitely think it'll be a hit, just not something I'm all that into. It has big hit potential though imo.
Interesting notes in this interview. They made a TON of music with Camila, they are planning on releasing a ton of singles this summer. Also mentions that Cold Water and Run Up are both still planned to be on the album. Major Lazer & Camila Cabello Have Made 'Over 20 Songs' Together: Exclusive
New interview, they're definitely planning on a bunch of stuff realll soon Major Lazer Tease Four Songs Set for Release This Summer, Announce 'Tuborg OPEN' Collaboration: Exclusive Camila, Ariana, Wale, Wizkid, Tinashe
I wonder who is more interested in collaborations? Pop stars or DJ? Is it a new way to make more money or mainstream? I don`t remember so many collabs previously.
Oh shit! They just released a surprise EP 01 Know No Better [ft. Travis Scott, Camila Cabello & Quavo] 02 Buscando Huellas [ft. J Balvin & Sean Paul] 03 Particula [ft. Nasty C, Ice Prince, Patoranking & Jidenna] 04 Jump [ft. Busy Signal] 05 Sua Cara [ft. Anitta & Pabllo Vittar] 06 Front of the Line [ft. Machel Montano & Konshens]
I love that one. Front of the Line calls back memories from their first album, sooooo good. This is their best release in awhile.
I haven't listened yet, but calling it their best release in a while, and calling back to the first album.... worries me haha
Their earliest stuff is my most favorite. It's a short EP but it's feeling like a good meeting point of the styles.
I never really came around to the first album, i've tried many times though. I think Free the Universe is the absolute perfect mesh of their styles though, so good
title track and Particula are my standouts after one listen but the whole EP is really solid, loving it
Billboard cover story How Major Lazer Bet on Diversity (and Data) to Make Global Hits: 'The Audience Controls Music Now' Interesting takeaway, but the whole thing is worth checking out: "A year ago, Major Lazer was planning to release an album in early 2017. But now, the group intends to let material trickle out throughout the year -- and, in fact, might never create an album again."
