Die Antwoord Band

Cannot believe there isn't a thread for them. I like/love all of their stuff and just got tickets for their show in October.

Can't wait.

This group is pretty crazy. A bunch of friends are super into them so I've heard a few songs here and there. Not exactly my cup of tea but I don't mind some of it haha.

 

I've been in South Africa for the last fortnight and it turns out I've been pronouncing their name wrong for years, it's spoken absolutely nothing like it's spelled in English ha.

I can't get the video to play unfortunately, but the afrikaans woman I spoke to told me it was pronounced like "Dee Ant-Voort". Whereas I'd been just butchering it with my phonetic english pronounciation ha.

I read something that they are planning to make last album before hiatus or split.

 

Show was pretty fun the other night. Could barely hear Yolandi though; they gotta turn her mic up or something. Ninja crowdsurfed a lot and made plenty of his funny faces.

 

Oh, really sorry actually. Maybe they'll change their minds, just a crisis crisis... I hope it is.

Sounds like a portion, if not the whole tour was cancelled.

 

Yeah my local date was like 2 weeks from now, but got moved to next March.

 

So they just dropped a new record.

I liked this band for a good month back in like 2013, but now they are just terrible. Worst concert I ever saw as well.
