Just a heads up The Bomb Factory just released more GA tickets for the previously sold out shows, BRAND NEW on 10/29 and LCD SOUNDSYSTEM on 10/30
Anyone been to the Fair this year? I haven't been in like 15 years, but I got some free tickets and will probably be going this week. Anything in particular worth checking out/eating?
I've never been except once I think as a kid. My parents don't like to spend money after admission so I don't think I got to do anything really
I went to the one in Ennis (Galaxy Drive In), which is probably the shittiest one (I don't really know though) - It was older and didn't have a lot of the amenities that I've seen advertised at some of the other ones (Beer Gardens) but it was still a blast. It has a mini golf course and a concession stand, but that's it, aside from the screens. It was SUPER cheap though, and since we went on Monday too, it was pretty quiet. How's the Lewisville one? Is it Coyote?
Yeah it's Coyote. I like it a lot when you can get comfortable. Decent selection of beer (mostly cans) and the burger was pretty good the one time I had it I don't know how often I'll go with it getting colder though
I'm trying to plan my end of the year vacation, I'm heavy leaning towards two places, Texas and California (Yosemite specifically). Question about Texas, for someone who has never been (traveling from Baltimore, MD), thoughts on San Antonio? I love lights, city lights, uplighting, Christmas lights, etc., so I saw San Antonio has some sort of Riverwalk with lots of lights, which caught my eye. Is there other things to do around town? I see Austin is a short drive, Houston is a little further. I'd be there for a full week, so I don't mind driving and spending the night. I'll most likely be going alone, but a very small chance I'd be going with a lady - so options for "romantic" things would be a plus as well. California, on the complete opposite scale, I'd just sit in the woods for a week.
San Antonio is definitely a great option if you've never been and want to sight see for sure. The Alamo is cool as well as the museums around there. Wife and I went to Riverwalk around Christmas several years ago and it was very nice with all the lights, carollers, etc. and if you've never had good Tex-Mex there are definitely some great options. Austin is something you can feasibly do too since it's only about an hour North. What were you seeing that you'd be interested in Austin and Houston?
When we went it was freezing cold but really it's a crapshoot. Could be in the 30/40s could be in the 70/80s really no consistency
The Riverwalk is a lot of fun. Lots of cool architecture and great restaurants. Def visit Austin while you're there. Texas Hill Country is gorgeous. If you're bringing a lady friend make a short drive to Fredericksburg and hit up the wineries and eat lots of German food.
If you go to San Antonio, also go to Austin. You probably don't need to worry about Houston unless there's something specific you want to do/see there.
Nah, I'm 100% with that. If the weather was nicer maybe drive through to go to Galveston and just to say you've been but there's not really anything super exciting off the top of my head that's a "must see."
