I feel like this needed maybe three more episodes. Also I really hope this isn't the last we see of Iron Lake because I was really loving Angela and Audrey's characters.
To clarify, I don’t have an issue with Dexters fate, my reason for hating this is that the writing was so rushed and sloppy, the plotholes I had been brushing off became too much in combination with stuff like Batista showing up for no reason, Dexter killing someone he could’ve just choked out, I could go on but I’m just gonna go watch something better to get my mind of this haha
Nothing was really shocking or surprising about the finale. It was fine, I guess. Zero desire for more, to be honest.
I don’t want more. I have a deep attachment to this character/original series. It should be finished from here. I wasn’t crying on my couch.
I thought this was pretty great. Definitely better than seasons 5-8 and a much stronger ending than we originally got.
Aside from the typical forced curses and Harrison sucking, I enjoyed this more than the last few seasons
Yeah, the more I thought about it, there were definitely things I enjoyed. Absolutely better than the last few seasons. I guess I just never ended up caring about any of the new characters, and didn’t find Harrison likable, which doesn’t help. edit- likable probably isn’t the best word to use here. I don’t know. I’m tired. Lol
That definitely wasn't the actor's fault. The way Harrison was written, I would have hated anyone having those plot points.
Yeah this wasn't bad. It seemed like it was really the most likely outcome because I never got the impression they wanted to keep this going after one reboot season. Definitely felt rushed tho Also whatever happened to the billionaire oil baron dude? Wasn't he like, a partner to Kurt or something?
Ratings and viewership have been exceptional for this show and for Showtime in general. While people on the internet are understandably unhappy with the ending, I'm sure there are a lot of people who really enjoy the world that was built in New Blood. I'm sure they'll take a crack at picking Harrison's story back up in some form especially because it's an established franchise that they could use to bolster streaming subscription numbers.
The whole franchise is built around Dexter though. I can't see many of those people tuning in for the show without him. I feel like it would be a bad choice to try and continue.
Only way a Harrison spinoff would be worth watching in any way would be if Dexter came back as his version of Harry/Deb but even that wouldn’t be worth it IMO
even then making Harrison a killer would make the ending of this kinda pointless too. He's supposed to get away and hopefully not become like Dexter.
Exactly, but the showrunner already said if Showtime called about it he would do it, which kind of supports how out of touch he is with his own visions/writing
I really enjoyed this season/show, even though the ending was super rushed. That said, the only thing I really wanted that we didn't get was an Angel vs Dexter conversation. I feel like the show could have gotten so much emotion out of that scene, Dexter off the record telling Batista about the truth with Doakes, LaGuerta, Trinity, etc. It could have been the whole shows emotional pay off. I honestly have zero desire for more though, or for anything else in the setting. Angela was fine, but the only character other than Dexter that I genuinely enjoyed was Logan, and he's dead, whilst Harrison was incredibly well acted but I wouldn't watch a show based around him. I think they brought the show back, it's done well and repaired the damage of the original. Now let it die, like Dexter.
Initially the lack of that encounter didn’t bother me all too much but now that it’s been a few days I’m really pissed about it :/
