I'm in need of a low stakes show I can burn through while up with my baby in the middle of the night and I think I'm just gonna dive into the prequel finally

 

well shit, I have to go ahead and say I was wrong.... the prequel season was actually good. Goddammit....

 

Watched the 4 episodes of Resurrection tonight. Pretty fun so far! Uma Thurman feels like she’s on a completely different, much better show lol

 

I'll probably start it in the next few weeks

I'm loving it so far. Really strong cast and I'm surprisingly enjoying Harrison and his character arc.

Same. Can't believe I'm actually looking forward to more seasons of Dexter. Haven't felt that way since the end of season 4.

 

Absolutely. The casting job they did on younger versions of all the main characters is incredible.

 

I loved it, my favourite since 4 pretty easily.

 

Been digging my Dexter rewatch. Haven't seen it since college and remember like nothing from it.

Tbh, season 1 is just so much better than the rest of the show, I forgot how much of a decrease in quality the following seasons were. Not to say they're terrible - the Doakes stuff in S2 was great (RIP), Lila stuff was good for a lot of it. Deb's utter hatred for Lila was always hilarious.

S3 is... not great so far. I have 2 episodes left. Jimmy Smits is awesome, of course, but the rest has been just alright. If it weren't for Jimmy, I'm not sure I'd like this one very much. But everything with Camilla was fantastic and well-acted.

Really looking forward to Trinity next, though. But, I'm dreading the death of Rita.

 

Finished my rewatch of the original series. Tbh, I didn't think the finale was bad at all *other* than the lumberjack twist. That was such a cop out

I'm 2 episodes into New Blood now though and I'm actually really enjoying this, too, so I guess it's good they didn't actually kill him off in that hurricane

 

new season was pretty entertaining. I love my silly superhero serial killer show

 

Binged all of New Blood last night. Great season of television. Probably a top 5 Dexter season, and would have been content with that being his true ending if it weren't for Resurrection.

Started Resurrection and enjoying it, too, but it's a bit jarring to see such well known actors in it haha

 

Yeah, Resurrection ruled.

I firmly believe that New Blood and Resurrection are better than seasons 3, 5, 6, and 8 of Dexter imo

 

I'm finally watching the new season, and while I remember seeing the casting announcements as they came out, this serial killer hangout scene is pretty insane to have this cast

 

Well shit, that was one of the best seasons of the show, huh!
