i think i was too hasty with my earlier post. im letting streamers like Datto influence my opinion too much lol. its only like the 3rd week the games been out. its unfair to compare year 0 D2 to year 2 or year 3 D1. sure, its frustrating that heroic strikes and raid set bonuses and all that isnt in the game but id be willing to bet they will be soon enough. theres still a good bit to do between trials, the raid, reset milestones, leveling alts, farming for exotics, crucible, all of that good stuff. im hoping that the xpac coming in December isnt like The Dark Below and is instead more substantial but w/e we get im sure will be nice. the Infinite Forest sounds like a neat piece of content, a procedurally generated map that changes every time you load into it. hopefully theres reason to go to it frequently.

 

I just hope they don't use the procedural generated aspect of the Inifinite Forest to justify there being no raid. Like, "there's endless PVE content! That and only one raid that's been out for months should keep you busy until the Warmind expansion, maybe, unless that one also doesn't have a raid!" I could see that happening for sure.

Also I don't think you were being too too hasty. Maybe a little bit, but a lot of those complaints, like content from D1 that's missing from D2 (strike loot, heroic strike playlist, private matches, etc.), are totally valid. And those things would absolutely help give us more and varied things to do. I haven't even played all the strikes, I don't think, because there's no reason to grind the playlist at all right now once you're above 265.

 

yeah like we all talked about the other night, for me the big appeal to this game is looking cool. cool armor, cool weapons, all that. its a bummer that the faction stuff is just reskins and that the strikes dont have their own loot. i want new armor sets! new weapons! lol. the strikes themselves have always been some of my favorite non-raid content and its a shame that they arent really worth doing in their current state. im almost certain theyll add heroics back. i sure hope so.

also yeah I hope the IF isnt an excuse to not have a raid or some other stuff that we normally expect from xpacs. I'd really like to see a PoE style horde mode return also.

 

PoE would require them to tell us what the hell is going on over in the Reef. Which would require them to figure out what the hell is going on over at the Reef haha. But yeah I agree some kind of endgame horde-mode with its own loot table is definitely something that should be added in for sure. The return of PoE in the April 2016 Update really gave the game the (admittedly small) shot of juice it needed to hold people over until RoI came out, whether the majority of players wants to admit it or not.

 

It's looking like Future War Cult is the move if you want to grind for the best Faction guns. They have a MIDA-archetype energy scout that also has high-caliber rounds, a 450-RPM auto, and a hand cannon with a perk that creates a delayed explosion after every hit you land. Goddamn that's a solid loadout. They had some of the best weapons in D1 too though.

damn so many wrong choices in here

nah but for real its amazing how much the factions have added and how enjoyable theyve made lost sectors now. it may be applying a bandage to something to that needs surgery but for now its enough to keep people interested i guess. hopefully iron banner will also add to that

 

also i love how hypocritical the subreddit is. yesterday everyone was "theres nothing to do! not enough content! wtf!" and now its "heres how to do 50 lost sectors in 5 minutes so you can max out your milestone and rep in no time!"

 

I never joined a faction in Destiny 1. I feel like this game does a horrible job explaining all this shit or maybe I just don't pay attention.

Wait you can join a faction? I thought you just go to each one, and turn on tokens to earn gear.

Striker titans are OP. its a shame, I miss my hammers but that subclass just doesnt offer enough to warrant taking it over Striker.

 

not when i'm using it. When i'm using it I can't kill anyone and the subclass sucks haha.

 

Anyone in here have any tips on the netherrealm portion of the Calus fight? Mainly on how to not get flipped over the barrier by those damn psions? It seemed like every run, one of the three inside would get flipped and sucked in, which in turn would kill us when it came to the damage phase. The rare times we got all 3 to the finish we would be getting 70+ skulls and would do a ton of damage in the DPS phase.

Obviously we are trying to kill them as quickly as possible, but it seems like sometimes they spawn and immediately chuck a grenade right at someone and it's almost unavoidable
