I'm less willing to give them a pass when they clearly knew this would be big, took 25 hours off downtime to prep, and have the raid race starting on Friday. They should have started with an prologue launch that led into the actual campaign because you have 10 year fans missing cutscenes because they get booted at the beginning and end of every mission. In Bungie's own words this is the culmination of a ten year story and people can't even experience. And it cost 100 dollars to get all the available content at launch.
It’s disappointing, but by all accounts it’s back to working fine today. I’m excited to dive in tonight, was busy yesterday anyway.
while disappointing, it's par for the course. If my memory is right, Taken King was really the only smooth launch we've had. I don't envy the position they're in, and there were so many systems changes in this expansion, it was bound to happen. Is what it is, but like Van said, it's working pretty smoothly this morning. We will see what happens Friday. Just have to hope we don't repeat the Vow launch lmao
Enjoying the story so far. On step 21 out of 34. Has a true "looming finality" feel to it, to me at least. I guarantee you I will do most all content that I can solo and not do this raid just like I have not done every single raid since Scourge. And even that one I did like a year after it launched.
Campaign absolutely rocks so far. Like, they knocked it out of the park with this one. Hitting all the right feels.
Getting absolutely bodied by the first encounter on contest mode lol. And so is apparently mostly everyone else. I think we have it figured out now though?
I’m mostly watching Datto who’s been stuck on 2nd encounter for a little while. Occasionally switching to Salt who I think is in the lead at the 4th. Those are the only two streamers I’ve seen that are past 1st encounter though lol.
Can get the 2nd boss down to about 60% health after one damage phase but just cannot make it to a second phase. So damn hard on contest mode lol. Cannot wait to play this raid on normal though lol
that final 12 man mission, holy shit. and the final scenes... i don't even know what to say. Absolutely phenomenal job. Hands down best expansion and ending they could have done and have ever made. Cheers!
On top of everything else going on... Thank you Pete Parsons for brutally destroying the easiest cash cow of all time.
that's a wrap. you don't fire the executive director and vice president of the IP if said IP is going to continue.
yeah this is a huge collapse. it looks like these are the first steps of sony taking over the studio. granted there's still over 800 employees at bungie and they are solely focusing on destiny and marathon, but i dont know how since it seems like on top of tossing out Luke Smith and Noseworthy they basically fired their WHOLE FUCKING NARRATIVE TEAM. And just about nuked the remainder of player support. UN.REAL.
tonights DCP episode is doing a good (painful) recap of everything. tonights lineup is briar rabbit, ms 5000 watts, fran mirabella, myelingames, true vanguard.
