YEAH WHAT YOU CRITICS SAID WOULD NEVER HAPPEN WE DEDICATE THIS BLOG POST TO ANY GAME PEOPLE SAID COULDNT MAKE IT TO THE FANS WHO STUPIDLY BOUGHT EVERVERSE ITEMS WELCOME, ITS HERE wait wait wait wrong thriller
Also, I don't know how many other people in the Destiny thread play The Division, but we're playing it again and started a thread for that too. Video Game - Tom Clancy's The Division (March 8, 2016) Come join us, if you haven't already.
I still don’t know what they could say that would make anyone happy. People were happy in december, now they are mad again. I feel like I just continue to see “I don’t know what I want, but this isn’t it” posts. What do people want changed?
I understand everyone hates eververse, but they already said they are adding that type of cosmetic stuff as drops in iron banner, etc.
I don't think too many people were happy in December. Everyone seemed to pretty much agree that CoO was not what this game needed, and anyone that thought it was going to be was just kidding themselves. But as far as a list of things that need to change go: -Random Rolls have to come back in some way, there's just no way around it. They messed up big time and it's time to admit it. Armor especially needs this. -Strike-specific loot and strike scoring/modifiers need to be added back in -No more reskin legendaries -Bring back record books with cosmetic rewards (these were likely phased out due to Eververse) -Add in more drops in raids and other endgame content in addition to still receiving tokens -Private matches, which, as always, should have been there from day one and it's embarrassing that they weren't and still aren't -Bring back rumble, permanently -Let us queue up for specific strikes from the Director and let us modify the difficulty to get better loot -More new exotics, less returning ones -More cosmetic rewards from gameplay overall, with Eververse just being extra -Make everything in Eververse direct-buy, give us Bright Engrams when we level up, make leveling up slower than it currently is to balance it -Fix the mod system by making it meaningful, as opposed to a formality just to increase your attack/armor by 5 -Bring back endgame-specific gear perks for Trials and Raid armor -More endgame content in general, like a Horde mode (The Division just added a free Horde mode for even players that don't own a single piece of DLC, and that game's microtransactions are so unintrusive I didn't even know they existed until the other day. I don't want to hear that this can't be done). The rewards for these activities should be unique, as in they should have their own weapon and armor sets. If they did all this, then I'd be happy and optimistic about the game going forward.
You must not be reading if you think that’s what people are saying lol. The issue is what they give us is good its just short and doesn’t keep people coming back. We’re doing D1 all over again. They’re going to sell all of the stuff we want that should’ve been there to begin with. Strike specific and PvP loot Modifiers for strikes to make them interesting Actual new models and things to do not constant reskins More vault space More incentive to grind the raids Ways to make loot interesting, a rework of the mod system combined with the Masterworks could do that Better weapon balance 6v6 crucible Private matches Ways to get ships, sparrows, ghosts, etc outside of Eververse No more events tailored around Eververse A better class/spec system that isn’t so limited and counterintuitive Daily bounties Ghost shells to track down More varied Public Events I could go on. Just read any of the other posts we’ve made in this thread or countless others on the Destiny forums/subreddit/blogs to see what people want. It’s not like we’re all just standing around going “FUCK THIS GAME FOR NO DISCERNIBLE REASON”
destiny 2 content sucked and it didn't make me actually want to come back I felt bad even buying the expansion pass
actually the more i read it the more i think its not good enough for Anthony. It hit more of the stuff that coffee had.
basically D2 is getting the D1 treatment. in 9 months D2 will be out of early access and actually be a real game! im optimistic. fuck knows why because Bungie have shown they can overpromise but i think this is a step in the right direction these are all good changes and im sure come September/October ill be ridiculously addicted to this game like ive always wanted to be. im frankly stunned that they mentioned Eververse and that it is a legitimate problem. i definitely dont buy the "this wasnt our intention!" thing but if those changes are true then thatll be great. the main issue still remains: this all shouldve been there at the beginning. theres nothing Bungie can really do to fix that, aside from giving us all of these QoL things for free (like they should) but they make an explicit point to mention that Expansions and Seasons are two different things and the Expansions will contain a lot of the meat changes. it all just comes down to the fact that for a lot of us this is our second time doing this rodeo and we're tired of it. we were told D2 wouldnt have the same development cycle as D1 and yet here we are. all in all, theres still hope for D2. im afraid Bungie have burned one too many bridges at this point and im not sure if many players will return but it sounds like once again those of us that are going to stick it out will be rewarded with a legitimately great game. its just a shame we'll have to wait until the end of this year to get it and some of us will have spent $120+ just to get there.
REPLACING TIME LIMITS IN NIGHTFALL BLESS overall I'm cautiously optimistic. Lots of good pointed out by them, it's just a bummer it wasn't all there to start.
There’s a lot to like about this post. In fact, everything that’s IN it is good. The bad things basically are what are NOT in it. Finally coming to their senses about Seasons vs. Expansions took way too long. That said, this delineation is fair. people shouldn’t be locked out of anything that was in the vanilla game just because they didn’t buy the expansions. That’s messed up and they changed it, so good. With Eververse, this is pretty much as good as it's going to get without getting rid of loot boxes entirely. The double engrams earned on level up during events is something I was thinking about myself so I'm glad they added it. It's only fair and it's also what Overwatch does. But, again, should've been like that from the beginning. Earning stuff from gameplay was always something that should've been there as well, but it's here now at least. Masterwork armor is great, although it still doesn't solve the problem of no good perks. At least we'll be able to re-roll to get recovery on pieces that don't have it. The raid reward changes are great. Back to D1 with drops after each encounter, and now the vendor actually sells gear for tokens instead of just engrams. That's good. The Ghost with raid perks is also a good carrot to chase, but there also needs to be a ship and sparrow and there isn't, so that's a little good and a little not good. Strike scoring coming back, but only to replace the time limit in the Nightfall, is disappointing. I wanted it back in the heroic playlist too. But at least it's better than the time limits. After this, everything gets progressively more vague, so it's hard to really have an opinion. Still no timetable on private matches for whatever reason, nothing concrete on what's happening with mods, etc. etc. At least 6v6 is coming back, thank the Traveler. Now for the things we didn't see: nothing about weapon perks or adding some element of randomization to rolls, nothing on strike-specific loot, nothing on bringing back record books, no word on rumble, nothing on additional endgame content. If this is truly everything they're working on that doesn't have specifically to do with upcoming expansions, then it's fine but I don't know if it will be enough. There's still nothing here to combat player fatigue when it comes to the content itself. Without random rolls to chase, there's no reason to play content once you get the guns you want beyond just playing it. And armor is still not worth grinding for because it's still basically just cosmetic. I'm hoping that they continue to be open with the community about what's coming, and I hope they have some seriously big plans for whatever is happening in the fall, because it needs to be like Taken King-level of impact on the current state of the game. And it looks like Gods of Mars isn't coming for a whiiiillllleeeeeeee so buckle in, I guess. This is a step in the right direction though, for sure, especially with regard to the Eververse stuff.
