This is the real deal this time. DLC II is called “Gods of Mars” and takes place at the Martian polar ice cap, will deal with Rasputin and Charlamegne, probably will have SIVA Fallen as the enemy faction.

Literally, they have repeated every single mistake from D1 in almost the EXACT same timeline. How?! HOW?!

 

Looking back at old Kotaku articles on the game and @Anthony_ remember us doing the Pyramidion strike the other night and I said the strike/area feels like it could be an awesome raid? Those motherfuckers took it out of TTK to put it in D2 for more money

it sounds like such short sighted way of developing. its almost like they said "remember how happy everyone was after TTK and ROI? what if we do that again, but first we have to make the first year of D2 shit so that Y2 and Y3 are even more beloved!" instead of just, yknow, building off of what they already had.

 

Holy shit I totally forgot about that line in that article. Jfc the transparency of it.

 

Yeah and we knew this too because it was why Rise of Iron needed to be developed in the first place and was made from the ground up by the live team in ~9 months. It's absurd that it's all happening the same exact way all over again.

Byf has an interesting theory here. I've assumed that the "Gods of Mars" alluded to in DLC2's title were the Warminds, however Byf suggests (and this is way more likely, knowing Bungo) that the "Gods of Mars" are going to be Fallen splicer machine gods (like Aksis). There's evidence in the lore that the Kell of the House of Kings is operating from Mars, so the idea is that these will be King Splicers, rather than the Devil splicers we faced in Rise of Iron. He also reminded me that Prince Aldrin of the Awoken crashed on Mars after the battle with Oryx at the beginning of TTK; perhaps Aldrin is the Mars NPC we'll trade our tokens to? Also, where's Variks? Maybe he fits in somewhere too.

Since that second leak with the Japanese text has also been proven false, all we have to go on is the name now (which was leaked in an image on PSN right after D2 launched and then was quickly taken down; it's also where we first heard DLC1 would be called "Curse of Osiris"). This seems like a plausible theory to me.

so today is the day we get the blog post hopefully outlining the roadmap for whats to come and what they plan on fixing,

not to be dramatic but i hope bungie realizes how important this is. this is a make or break for a lot of people. i hope for the games sake that its good but at this point im not really holding my breath
