Yeah I played for around four hours last night and only got, like, two. And yet every YouTuber appears to be claiming they're dropping like candy. Don't see why.
Engrams: The glowy items that drop from enemies sometimes and turn into weapons and armor. Legendary Shards: You get these by dismantling Legendary-quality weapons and armor. They're a currency you can use to buy things from a variety of different vendors. Bright/Illuminated Engrams: Glorified gambling loot boxes containing cosmetic items that you can buy with real money or earn by leveling up past the level cap and which contain all the fun cosmetic items that used to be earnable in-game in Destiny 1.
credit where credit is due, the Masterworks, the Brother Vance Verses, and the Ornaments are a BIG step in the right direction. I just caught myself thinking "damn i gotta hop on Destiny 2 later to finish up that Ornament and maybe get some Masterwork Cores" and it struck me that this is the first time since the game launched where I have a real goal to grind for.
Yeah seriously, it really helps. I'm planning on devoting my night to getting Saint-14's shotgun and actually looking forward to it. Weirddddddd.
