Same. Like I’m having fun playing the new content but I also understand the shortfalls of the game right now. Idk.

 

Maybe Raid Lair tomorrow if we can swing it level-wise (have no idea what light level it's supposed to be)?

 

did you see Dattos rant on twitter? even the content creators are frustrated. while some on the subreddit are toxic the majority of them have reasonable critiques and are justifiably angry.

Meanwhile, in the Destiny2 subreddit, literally nothing but blind fanboyism and immediate downvotes if you so much as suggest CoO is overpriced

Also I was totally expecting this backlash so it’s not surprising. Everybody just expected way too much from this DLC despite Bungie actually being surprisingly clear about what was in it. Should’ve kept expectations way low, that way they’d only be the same disappointed in D2 as they already were, like me.

They def shouldn’t have charged $20 for it tho

 

With the changes they did to the loot and shader system (adding all those previously erasable in-game items to the Bright Engrams), they should honestly be giving the expansions away for free. Seriously. Especially considering they're functionally locking vanilla-only players out of the goddamn raid.

Bungie didnt make it clear that:

-Mars would be the smallest planet with only 1 public event
-heroic strikes wouldnt have modifiers
-content would be locked away if you dont purchase the expansion
-the Eververse store would see more additions than the actual activities
-the infinite forest would just 1 one tileset of floating platforms that are arranged in slightly different altitudes

no, i dont think i was expecting too much. ive now given bungie $80 and i STILL cant find enough content to justify it. sure, i can plug away at the strikes and crucible until my eyes bleed but it doesnt change the fact that Bungie straight up want to charge us more for less. bungie have flat out posted a career listing for someone who can tie progression to loot boxes a la EA and BF2 "Create sustainable player progression and chase through Destiny 2’s Bright Engram" -Senior Progression Designer, Bungie Career Listings • r/DestinyTheGame

i hope everyone thats upset is loud, i hope they continue to be loud and draw as much attention to this as possible. i dont like that we're having to go through the exact same motions as D1. these Verse weapons and the Masterwork and the Raid Lair and all of that just arent enough at this point. that shouldve been free. the next DLC should also be free. if we get a TK style expansion? sure, charge us for that. ill pay for a complete overhaul of the game at this point.

the only joy i really get out of the game is playing with you guys which just goes to show how wonderful you all are. i stared at my PS4 for a solid 5 minutes debating on if i wanted to even play D2. then it hit me that i could play literally anything else and be more satisfied at this point.

 

They actually did make all of those things clear though! Well, not the Eververse thing but the others they did. Either by outright telling us or through showing us in the two livestreams.

And yeah I saw that job posting, Jim Sterling talked about it in his video about CoO that went up today. Disgusting.

But yeah, the only way things change is if we raise enough hell. I'm glad the outrage has been sustained. Relentlessly keeping the pressure on Bungie is the only way the game gets better at this point.

 

anthony, no they did not lol. ive watched the live streams. NO WHERE did they say or show those things. no where. they said Mars would be "slightly smaller" when its literally a small patch that we arent even allowed to use our Sparrows in because we'd zoom of the map. they never denied, nor did they confirm, heroic strikes would have modifiers but its asinine that they dont because theyre ultimately pointless. they made the Infinite Forest sound like an actual new ACTIVITY not something that just prolongs the already boring Adventures. They flat out called it a new activity many times. sure i understand if you cant buy the DLC you cant participate in the DLC activities but theyve locked people out of the Prestige Leviathan raid, getting certain exotics and drops, and locking people out of achievements in the base game. thats fucked.

 

I'm not saying it's not wrong, it is. Everything about what they've done with this game is varying degrees of wrong. Just have to keep giving them hell for it. Maybe it'll work eventually.

 

no i know im sorry i dont mean to come across as rude or anything im just really agitated with Bungie right now. Destiny 2 feels like watching the Prequel Star Wars films. i dont hate it as much as some, in fact if pressed id say i like it, but it could be so much more
