all the QoL changes the community has asked for they basically said "no, fuck you" and what they have changed/improved doesn't do much for me. I've watched every stream for every Destiny update/DLC and this was the most underwhelming and disappointing update in 3 years
Yeah this stream sucked but they’re going to address loot changes in the next stream. I smell that vinegar boiling up inside you but just inject some honey in there for now and if the next stream sucks you can unleash the vinegar in full force.
it literally happened this stream: Deej: This will be THE most rewarding public event activity in Destiny *activity drops 2 tokens and a blue engram*
That was pretty damn funny haha Unknown Player posted a video today where he got an exotic engram from it though.
I feel like this DLC was already pretty much done before Destiny 2 even came out, which left them not much time to actually improve on the criticisms. Not an excuse at all, but I'm sure the live team didn't have much time to actually take into account a lot of things yet
Destiny 2: The Token King I mean, exotics have chances to drop in public events now. Unless they're increasing not only the odds of exotics dropping but also even making exotics worth chasing then what's the point? I mean would it have been that hard to at least create a weapon or armor set or two that is public event exclusive and at least make it worth grinding for? Which gets me to another thing! Strike specific loot! I seriously have not done a single strike since the 3 we are required to do for the main game at the very beginning. There's no incentive to. And another thing!! They still don't have raid amour and weapons with raid-specific perks that is worth grinding for. Which would be bearable if.....the mod system was actually useful and we could grind for mods that actually changed the way your gun played. instead it's just +5 damage. Give every gun one intrinsic perk specific to that gun/archetype and then make the mod slot something we can customize. give me mods that add dragonfly or outlaw or gorilla fighter or glass half full or icarus to my guns. just.....ah!!! it's so frustrating.
I would bet on all those things probably being worked on as we speak. The problem is that by all accounts it seems as though Bungie severely miscalculated when they decided to double down on casual Destiny fans at the expense of the hardcore audience; they thought simplifying the game to a ridiculous degree would get more players involved, and it did in the short term, but now all those casual fans have moved on to other games (because, they’re not as serious of fans) and the hardcore players are pissed because we’ve been left with nothing. That design philosophy has tainted everything about Destiny 2, and it isn’t something that can be fixed right away. They definitely were able to sneak some small changes into this DLC but I wouldn’t expect anything serious until the spring. It’s kind of funny, for all their talk of this being so much better than vanilla D1, it’s following the same exact path: game launches, not enough to do, first DLC is barely a band-aid, second DLC starts fixing some of the problems (remember Etheric Light in HoW?), then the major expansion a year later totally overhauls the experience. It really sucks so hard that this is happening again, though, I do agree with that. Hopefully they realize this casual-friendly experiment failed and they’ve learned that screwing over their hardcore supporters isn’t worth the short-term profits when it comes time to make D3.
We need more public events and more incentive to do them. I enjoy them because of the MMO aspect but there just aren't enough of them. Flashpoint is the most annoying milestone because of this. Speaking of exotics, I did get an engram from doing an adventure the other day. That's prob super rare but still lol
The entire loot system and endgame experience needs an overhaul to make players want to stay engaged for extended periods of time. I don’t know how they do it without random rolls but they have to figure it out or the game will just continue losing support.
strike/raid specific loot/sets with intrinsic perks. endgame loot reward is almost entirely cosmetic at this point.
Yeah but even that stuff has a less time-consuming endpoint without random rolls because once you have it, you have it. The hunt for the god roll kept me playing D1 far longer than the actual content on offer warranted.
maybe the make raid-specific mods for their weapons? like they have the shaders, but mods would actually be worth grinding for.
