True. It's just something I wish I had known earlier so I didn't feel forced to use types of weapons I hated just to get better gear

I'd be all in on that. I'm having a lot of fun with the Dawn story now that I'm actually able to dive into it. Hopefully Bungie continues to build these seasons around a larger story.

 

What's everyone's go-to build looking like for Trials? My fireteam played survival for about two hours last night and only played 2 or 3 teams that didn't run circles around us, so obviously we need to change something haha.

 

Hard Light is so annoying right now in Trials but it's probably the move (Suros and Monte also seem to hold up well). Revoker is also a great option. My team was low 970's and it was annoying facing teams that were 1010, but that should only last another week or so. We managed to get 4 wins which I was happy with.

 

I’ve been using Hard Light/Revoker a lot like most people. Gotta play the meta in Trials. Another good option is Randi’s Throwing Knife/Erentil or Mindbender’s Ambition. Randi’s is a solid counter-sniper weapon. I’ve also used Bygones in the kinetic slot with Erentil or Mindbender’s in energy.

I’ve also heard Last Word is really good for controller users but haven’t tried it in Trials yet.

 

MIDA/Recluse last season was my favorite loadout in a long time, but it's outgunned right now. Never been great at sniping but I really wish I had grinded momentum/control last season to get Revoker.
