It is wild though. When I first moved to Colorado, Boulder and Denver were already unaffordable housing-wise but Fort Collins was still a pretty cheap place to rent or buy. Now everywhere is fucked.
Yep, that's why I used the past tense. We had to leave to a smaller town to find something affordable and even then it's pushing it.
Yeah, western Montana is the same unfortunately. I lived in Missoula for nearly 10 years and saw rents go up 5x what they were when I got there
CDOT launches plan for mountain rail, expanded statewide transit Would go from Denver to Steamboat. Rabbit Ears pass can be terrifying to drive so this would be awesome if it actually happens.
would love to be able to zip up to steamboat and go to the hot springs or hike up there easily. Drove up there once and the drive wasn't bad but rail would be awesome
had no idea until now there was a denver thread. i live in durango but visit denver when i can, especially for shows.
Gonna be moving to y’all’s area next month! I’ll be in Fort Collins, but please keep me in mind for shows/fun things!
Should be a good one! I'm missing that show, but I'll be at Silent Planet, Dorian Electra, Chase and Status, Wednesday, and Swans all coming up the next couple months.
There is absolutely zero consistency in genre among these artists hahah so it's definitely a bit of an odd list...
I hate the popular ones here like los chingones and machete. Went to this places called Chakas one time during happy hour that had like $7 fishbowl margs and fajitas that were awesome. El Camino has great street tacos. Tacos Tequila & Whiskey isn’t bad but it’s overpriced. Santiago’s is great. Or literally hit up any truck or restaurant that’s on Federal and you won’t be disappointed
Yeah if you’re looking for most authentic, like Dylan said, any place on Federal will likely hit the spot. My personal favorite for street tacos is Uno Mas on South Pearl Street
I'd 2nd Chakas if you're in SE Denver. Good neighborhood spot, but not worth going out of your way if you're just day-tripping from Fort Collins.
Hahaha ok thank you all! I have a friend who has a conference in Lakewood so we’re just meeting up for dinner one night!
what kinda food you interested in? Not downtown, but we just went to Bamboo Sushi in the highlands and it was fantastic. then you can pop over to little man for icecream afterwards. Linger is also there and really really good. idk if there's a restaurant within the downtown area i can actually recommend tho.
