There aren't really any bangers per se but some solid ass melodies, Met Him Last Night's chorus is insaaaaanely catchy to me
Yeah this is a pleasant surprise, there's some stuff she hadn't explored before that I'm really into, like those 90s jangle pop songs and dreamier ones that don't stray too far from what Kacey Musgraves was doing on Golden Hour. I wish the first few songs were their own separate thing, as the album takes too long to get going because of their inclusion, and I could do without a few more, but overall I think it's one of her best albums.
This felt kinda scattered for me. Opening track was really off-putting but I get it. Cool to see she is taking accountability. Her range is still so wild.
I wish I liked this more. The last 4 songs are easily the best, and not coincidently, the ones where she doesn’t sound like she’s trying to imitate someone else. It’s tragic that someone of her vocal gifts had to spend so much time fighting to survive her demons that she never got to develop a real artistic voice.
I think if you really edit and get rid of a few of the tracks, she has a really strong record on her hands. The stuff that worked for me really worked but so much of it didn’t click for me. Ultimately I hope she got whatever she was hoping for from the experience and continues to get the help she needs
This has grown on me. At first, I didn't like how obviously I could tell what tracks were written by Julia Michaels/Justin Tranter. There's still a couple tracks I could do without. Love the title tracks, Ariana feature and the closer.
She should have just messaged them privately and kept it there even though she is in the wrong here. Sheesh.
I might be totally misunderstanding whats going on here, but is Demi trying to shame a froyo shop for selling sugar free cookies? What in the world?
My interpretation was that the placement of them leading to the actual counter where you get the "less healthy" regular versions could shame someone for wanting that less healthy version? Either way it's a bit much and for her to have put them publically on blast for it, not a super great look Also I didn't see that followup DM posting until now, geez
I said this about her documentary: something is off. Something doesn’t feel right. Not like she’s still using or something. But something is very phony feeling about this “I’m a new person’ attitude, and this co to yes to just make me feel uncomfortable.
Yeah because she has eating disorder and they are “triggering” for her to have to walk by them. Which...no one forces you to go to that froyo place and the place is just trying to be inclusive to people who are trying to diet or eat a bit healthier but still want a snack.
Like others have said, there’s no reason for her to have went public with this. She should have addressed this problem privately. Luckily I doubt many people will be offended like her about this so their business I’m sure will be fine, if anything it may be boosted by it.
Urgh even her "apology" is pretty tone deaf. Her saying that gluten free foods should instead be on display as "for people with celiacs" is so stupid. I can't just buy a cookie without putting my celiac disease on display? Also a dumb thing to be upset about, considering all the gluten free cookies and baked goods I eat are just as unhealthy as those made with wheat flour lol. Just because something replaces wheat flour with rice flour doesnt make it health shaming dude, it still has the same amount of refined sugar in it!
