Maybe I've been out of the loop but has anyone else noticed that there seems to be very little in the way of protest music for this current administration? Like you'd think there would be a Rock Against Trump compilation or something. If I just missed all of it, let me know... Unless nobody sees this because I'm commenting under a Demi Lovato post.

Right? Maybe I've been out of the loop, but I feel like we should have heard more from Rise Against, etc. by now.

This is at the top of all "protest music" I've heard recently

Anti-Flag released 3 albums, Sum 41 released "45", Green Day released "Troubled Times"...I'm trying to think of who else released anti trump stuff.

I agree that it's odd this close to the election that we're not getting inundated with it.

I can’t remember who said it, but I remember hearing a comedian say that the Trump administration has been awful for inspiring bits/political humor in general because reality has been even more outrageous than what you might normally exaggerate for the sake of a joke. Maybe there’s been a similar effect on musicians? Maybe escapism through songwriting has been a release for a lot of folks instead of a song calling out how much of a potato Trump is objectively. It is really interesting to think about because you’re right. It is kind of strange.

Didn't Keith from ETID say the new album is going to have anti-trump themes?
